Description

The Mitras MK1 Surface Mounted Gas Replacement Cover G30060/70 is a durable replacement cover and door designed specifically for the original MK1 surface mounted gas meter box.

Designed to fit over an existing MK1 back plate, the replacement cover provides a practical solution for replacing an old, damaged or deteriorated gas meter box without needing to replace the complete installation. Please note that the back plate is not included.

Manufactured from tough glass reinforced plastic (GRP), the cover is weather resistant, suitable for outdoor installation and will not rot or corrode. The MK1 surface mounted gas meter box was originally introduced in the 1960s, making this replacement cover particularly useful for maintaining older domestic gas meter installations.

The replacement cover complies with the BS 8499:2017 specification for domestic gas meter boxes.

Installation

The replacement cover is designed to attach to an existing MK1 back plate. If the original back plate is no longer present, the manufacturer's installation guidance states that a baton can be screwed to the wall above the meter to provide an attachment point.

Please Note: This product is a replacement cover and door only for the MK1 surface mounted gas meter box. The back plate is not included.

Meter boxes are designed for outdoor use. Due to the nature of the GRP material and manufacturing process, the product may have minor cosmetic imperfections, including scuffs and scratches. These do not affect the performance or functionality of the meter box cover.
