Mitras Connect Semi-Buried Gas Meter Box

The Mitras Connect Semi-Buried Gas Meter Box G60055 is a specialist domestic gas meter enclosure designed for semi-buried installation at ground level. Specified by Connect Utilities for new installations, its design allows the meter box to be installed against an external wall at ground level without bridging the property's damp-proof course.

The G60055 is suitable for U6 and G4 domestic gas meters, including prepayment meters, and can also accommodate some medium-pressure applications. Its semi-buried design provides a practical alternative where a conventional recessed or surface-mounted gas meter box is not suitable.

Manufactured from durable glass reinforced plastic (GRP), the enclosure is weather resistant and designed for long-term outdoor use. The GRP construction will not rot or corrode, while the meter box is also fire retardant to BS 476 Part 7 Class 2. A meter box key is included.

The Connect Semi-Buried Gas Meter Box complies with BS 8499:2017 requirements for domestic gas meter boxes and meter brackets.

Installation

The Mitras G60055 is designed to be fitted at ground level, partially submerged into the ground and fixed to an external wall. This installation method allows the box to be positioned at ground level without bridging the damp-proof course.

The gas service enters through the bottom of the box on the left-hand side, where a built-in mounting is provided for the PE pipe transition fitting. The gas outlet positions are located on the right-hand side.

A replacement lid is available separately for this meter box. The compatible replacement lid is Mitras G60054.
