Mitras Semi-Buried Gas Meter Box

The Mitras Semi-Buried Gas Meter Box G60039 is a discreet domestic gas meter enclosure designed to be partially buried in the ground. Its low-profile brown finish provides an unobtrusive solution for housing domestic gas meters at ground level.

The G60039 has been developed specifically for U6 and G4 metal-cased domestic gas meters. The meter sits within the well of the enclosure and can be sealed around the top edge using the compatible neoprene water-resistant seal, which is available separately.

Manufactured from durable glass reinforced plastic (GRP), the meter box is weather resistant and designed for long-term outdoor use. The GRP construction will not rot or corrode, while the enclosure is also fire retardant to BS 476 Part 7 Class 2. A meter box key is included.

The Mitras G60039 complies with BS 8499:2017 requirements for domestic gas meter boxes and meter brackets.

Installation

The Mitras G60039 is designed for semi-buried installation. The gas service entry is positioned below ground at the bottom left-hand side of the meter box, where a built-in entry boss is provided.

The standard gas outlet position is located at the top right-hand side of the enclosure. A rear or left-hand outlet can also be used if required, although a new hole will need to be drilled for these alternative outlet positions.

The gas meter is positioned within the well of the box and can be sealed to the top edge using the compatible neoprene seal, sold separately.

Replacement Lid & Accessories

A replacement lid is available separately for this meter box. The compatible replacement is the Mitras G60040 / IS0051 replacement lid.

A neoprene seal is also available separately and can be used to seal the meter to the top edge of the meter box.

Meter boxes are designed for outdoor use. Due to the nature of the GRP material and manufacturing process, the product may have minor cosmetic imperfections, including scuffs and scratches. These do not affect the performance or functionality of the meter box.
